Smart trike's 5 in 1 Infinity tricycle is designed for babies from 15 months and grows with the child. With the lightest touch the recliner Infinity manoeuvres like a stroller. The smart patented touch steering technology is engineered to the very last detail for parent comfort. My review in brief: brilliant so far, very thoughtful design and really well engineered. Get one.
Verbose review: We already have a high-end buggy for our 18 month old daughter. It has been great. Recently, I have been using it less and less because my daughter is walking a lot more. I have even been thinking about selling it. A trike was out of the question until a friend referred me to Smart Trike who offered to send me one for free to try and review. It arrived today and was well-packaged from the outside in. The first thing that struck me was the high quality and very carefully engineered parts. It is a 5-in-1 trike that can change with the age of my daughter. Whilst putting it together, I can see that this will live up to its promises.
It was actually very simple to put together and took 35 minutes, with distraction from my daughter who kept wanting to try it out as soon as the wheels and handlebar were connected. We took it for a test drive this afternoon and I must say I am impressed. The steering is really light and responsive. Only the subtlest gesture is needed. The whole thing weighs very little, so it is a welcome change to the buggy. The biggest plus was my daughter's reaction to it. She loves it and kept saying 'wheee' as we went. She does not say this in the buggy. The harness clips felt fiddly at first, which I was concerned about. After two turns putting her in, it's actually ok. I generally dislike all harness clips (buggies and car seats alike), so this may just be a personal thing.
The two bags are perfect and actually give more storage than the buggy. I won't be trying to cram in the nappy bag in there. It's more for handy things like wallet, gloves and shopping.
Downsides: there have to be. The wheels have lost their shine already after an hour of pavement. They are made of rigid plastic rather than rubber, so I can see why. It does not compare to a high-end buggy in terms of ride and off-road ability. Then again, it is a fraction of the price and I wasn't expecting to use it in the countryside. Downside two is that there is little to no steering control when reversing. Again, not a major issue because it is so light.
To sum up, I am so happy with this trike. Smart Trike have done a great job to make this the one we will use to see our daughter into the next few years. The gradual stages are really cleverly designed and the build quality will see it last long enough to actually reach the last stages (fully child-controlled). As I said at the start of this review, we had no intention of getting a trike. I figured our daughter would just walk, or I would carry her when she gets tired (this happens a lot). Knowing about the Smart Trike now, I would have happily bought this anyway. My daughter loves it (especially the 'smart phone' buttons) and cannot wait to get pedalling and steering herself. Oh and we love the colour, which matches the photo.

Very impressed with the high quality of this product. I decided to get something different (more fun) but at the same time as comfortable as a pram, then I got this trike for my 10 months old baby. She loved to ride on it! It is very essy to use as a parent who is driving it. I would definitely recommend Smartrike!
